Zanzibar Tour - Swahili Classic

Day 1 - Stone Town

On arrival at Zanzibar Airport, you will be met and transferred to Stone Town. Accommodation is on Bed & Breakfast basis.

 

 

Day 2 - Stone Town

Depart from the hotel for a spice tour. This tour involves visiting the spice growing areas to see different spices and to learn their nature and uses. You will be able to taste some of them right on the spot depending on the season. Interesting items include cloves, nut meg, rambutan, lipstick, iodine plant, lemon grass, vanilla, henna, shampoo plant, etc. Finally you will visit the Kidichi Persian Baths that were built by the first Sultan of Zanzibar named Sultain Said Said ben Sultan in 1850 and Maruhubi Palace Ruins built by the third Sultan of Zanzibar named Sultan Said Baraghash bin Said in 1880 which were built especially for housing 99 of his harem. Lunch is included.
Swahili lunch at Serena Restaurant in Mangapwani. This is followed by a visit to the Slave caves.
Dinner at a restaurant in town. Overnight at the hotel.

 

 

Day 3 - Stone Town

After breakfast, depart for a cultural tour. Today you will get a first-hand glimpse at the everyday lives and enduring traditions of the Zanzibari people, with a visit to two separate very special villages and also a visit to a local school. After lunch at a local restaurant you will return to your hotel.
In the evening, depart from the hotel for a sunset cruise along the Stone Town waterfront. Return to the hotel for overnight.

 

 

Day 4 - Depart

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight home.
